When the expanse of Predarossa opened up before my eyes, between the gurgling streams and the alpine setting, I was thrown into the wilderness, the unspoilt landscapes of the American Indians.
Having reached the beautiful Piana di Predarossa, we walked on the flat for just over 1km along the river. After a 30-minute warm-up, the ascent began, the difference in altitude became significant, but the views over the valley and the Alps repaid us for the effort. The Rifugio Cesare Ponti at 2,559 m above sea level will be our destination and base for a well-deserved lunch! For those who wish, we can continue to climb to reach Bocchetta Roma at an altitude of 2890 metres and admire the landscape on the peaks of Val di Mello
Meeting at 8.30 am at Lecco Taurus, we compact the cars and proceed to Predarossa (private road + parking cost 12€ per car)
