Hiking in a mountain environment, to discover the highest of Premana ‘s alpine pastures , beneath little-known and wild peaks

Have you ever been to visit any of the alpine pastures around the village of Premana? We are at the bottom of the Valsassina and here love and respect for the mountains are combined with a well-being linked to the ancient tradition of blade and knife making. A splendid route through a valley rich in water up to the 1,700 metres of Alpe di Deleguaccio.
One crosses woods and pastures that are always well maintained. Nuclei of huts are still inhabited, at least in the summer months when the cattle go up to the mountain pasture. Streams of fresh water under the peaks that join the Legnone 2,600 m to the Pizzo Alto 2,511 m.

We will remember the traditions of these places, such as the surprising ‘Past’ festival, and we will perhaps want to return up here in August when these unique community festivals are celebrated with a convivial lunch enlivened by a very special form of choral singing, the ‘tiir’, which is typical and unique.
