On the lake the autumn is mild, the light spectacular. Balcony walk in Tremezzina
Here we are ready for a walk full of stories… we could say… from the stables to the stars! We set off from Rogaro, one of the sets of “Star Wars – the clone war” (do you remember the romantic scene of the waterfall?), climbing up the cart tracks to the chapel of the Alpini to enjoy the view towards Lavedo and Villa Balbianello!
We continue on sun-exposed slopes, not for nothing were lemons grown in Tremezzina to be sold throughout Europe. The climb ends in the bucolic meadows of Nava, where cattle graze in the summer; here the ancient Via Regina crosses with the more recent Via dei Monti Lariani trail.We stop for a lunch break overlooking the descent that awaits us. The path becomes steep, threading its way between the limestone rocks of the sasso San Martino frequented by goats.
We descend in hairpin bends, in front of us a unique view: Bellagio and the three branches of the lake . Here we arrive at the small church of San Martino clinging to the rock, among the ‘stars’ that Mark Twain admired it, who was staying right opposite.o.After the stop we set off again, the path becomes easier, we are halfway up the mountainside above Griante and Cadenabbia. Land of cultured holidays over the centuries: colonies of Englishmen, German Prime Minister Adenauer, Mr and Mrs Shelley, to name but a few. In short, mountains, lake, history and literature create a magical atmosphere here. What will fascinate you most? the pastures of yesteryear, the little church on the mountain, the literary echoes or the traces of the most famous films shot here ?

MEETING POINT: 9.00 a. m. at BAR ESSENZA inside the Gran Mercato in Via Sebenico in Como (hamlet of Tavernola) – Park in the elevated area next to it.

What to bring: hiking boots, water, backpack, clothing suitable for the weather. PACKED LUNCH
Difficulty: Mountain trails with some steep sections.
