Hike through the woods of Monte Brianza and collection of honey from the hives in the company of a beekeeper.

What is honey extraction? One of the most satisfying moments in beekeeping, the extraction of honey from the combs to make it available for consumption. At the end of May, when the cells filled with honey are covered with a layer of wax that seals them, it means it is ‘ready’. We will observe the stages of this process in the company of beekeeper Roberto, who will tell us about the magical world of bees and honey production. Of course we will taste this sublime and purest nectar with its golden hues: acacia honey.

It won’t be just honey, the day begins with a hike through the green Brianza with little altitude difference, also suitable for children. From the heart of Colle Brianza, our starting point, along paths and lanes we reach the village of Ravellino, descend to the beautiful Romanesque church of San Alessandro in Cavonio, discover an enigmatic Masso Avello, and pass by the legendary Campanone della Brianza. Around 14.00 we will be at Cascina Panizzera, a time when the bees are most active!
