Spectacular arch between the Grigna peak and Lake Como. Tribute to the partisans of the Poletti brigade, on Liberation Day.

The Porta di Prada is an unparalleled art form modelled by Mother Nature! We reach this magnificent Rock Arch starting from Cainallo (Esino Lario) and continue to the Bietti Refuge, below the peak of the Northern Grigna, overlooking Lake Como.

From the Vò di Moncodeno car park (1430 m.a.s.l.), we walk through a beech wood (in some places a little exposed, but 2 m wide) to the Bocchetta di Prada. We reach the 89th brigade bivouac, on Liberation Day we learn about the history of the partisans to whom it is dedicated, and shortly afterwards we arrive at the Porta di Prada where we stop to take photos and discover its origins. We continue with a few ups and downs to the Rifugio Bietti, admire the beautiful view of the lake, have something to eat, bask in the sun for a while and continue back to our cars.
