Wine is history and tradition, and the village of Palanzo tells many stories

In the month of September, what could be more intriguing than taking a trip to a village wine festival!
An atmospheric walk on the ancient ‘strada regia’ the old mule track that was the only land route on this side of the lake until 1917,
We begin our journey with views of the beautiful churches in the village of Pognana Lario .
Amidst terraced woods and streams, we reach the ancient village of Palanzo , where we discover to our amazement a 16th-century wine press, which happens to have been dedicated to pressing wine. Built on site with an enormous chestnut tree trunk…. to tell the truth there are two presses, but you will discover this on the spot.

We then go up to enjoy the late afternoon light at the little church of Soldo with another view of the Lario of those to remember, we still have the medieval tower, the old wash-house and the church dedicated to Sant’Ambrogio. And finally it was time to OPEN THE CELLARS!!!
Our friends from the B&B AQUARELLE are waiting for us for our first drink with tasty samples, and from there we freely explore the village in search of the most beautiful wine cellar, or the best wine… Without exaggerating, because then we will put on our headlamps for the impressive evening descent to the starting point…
