Snowshoes, crampons, are you in the mood for snow? We love to get out and about in the snow too, so we thought we’d do a great tour to keep everyone entertained. In the wild Val Gerola!
We set off from Fenile (1263 m), proceeding slightly uphill through a magnificent spruce forest, a poetic landscape: framed by spruce trees, the Bitto torrent gushing at our side, the sun in front of us.
We reach Pescegallo (1454 m), where we regain civilisation for a moment, and then enter the woods and clearings. Zigzagging on the snowpack, we move higher and higher, to meet a wide dirt road that leads us to Lago di Pescegallo (1864 m).
We stop for a picnic lunch (packed), enjoy the panorama of the Orobic Alps, warm ourselves in the rays of the sun, and then descend along a new, very suggestive and little-used path through a beech forest.
The beeches give way to firs for the last downhill stretch to our cars.
DEVELOPMENT: 650 m
LENGTH: 10 km
if you have neither crampons nor snowshoes, please contact us and we will have snowshoes/ snowshoes at the start
