An unusual route in the strange Bellagio, October light, autumn colours and much to discover

Bellagio, stretching from the well-known Borgo to the summit of Monte San Primo at an altitude of 1,682 metres, has over 20 hamlets. Did you know?
In this beautiful autumn walk we discover just a few of them: San Giovanni (first parish seat), Vergonese, the Mulini del Perlo, an important working place, and then Guggiate with the small church of Sant’Andrea and the ‘palazzun’ of the ancient Ciceri family, Loppia, an old military port, where the history of lake navigation is still alive today.
The grand finale will be in the Lario’s most scenic gardens, when the Japanese maple grove takes on the colours of autumn.
The low October sun enhances the outlook, the last foreign tourists may keep us company. A small museum in the ‘orangery’ tells us the history of the Villa and we can also admire the keys to the city of Milan, an important gift for Napoleon

The lakeside promenade of Villa Melzi is almost a kilometre long and the panorama changes as you ascend the winding lanes that run along the hillside, you will have something to take memorable photos of!
